Dr. Matthew Herba, DC

Doctor of Chiropractic

As a child I suffered needlessly with migraine headaches. My personal mission is to educate every parent, grandparent and child that many times this can be resolved by safe, natural chiropractic care. If my parents knew what I know now, most of my childhood wouldn’t have been spent going to specialist after specialist, taking medication after medication.

While I was completing my Molecular and Microbiology training at UCF, I was part of a nutritional research team in the Central Florida area. In working with AIDS and Cancer Patients, we were seeing amazing results with natural, non-drug solutions. After the experiences as a child with chiropractic, and the results we were getting with these patients, the decision to become a Chiropractor was the logical choice.

My training in the health field started at the University of Central Florida. In 1999 I earned a bachelors from their prestigious Micro and Molecular Biology department. The most surprising thing about this degree is the depth and breadth of topics you can choose from. The turning point in my education was when I took a class in Neuro-anatomy. I was struck by how complex God had designed us. After learning that chiropractors are nerve system specialists, I immediately decided to attend Chiropractic College. I traveled to Dallas, Texas and attended Parker College of Chiropractic, earning a Doctor of Chiropractic in 2003. Upon graduation I worked in St. Cloud under the tutelage of Dr. Tony Nalda, in one of the world’s premier practices.

In our office we look at the cause of your symptoms, and treated your whole person. This approach allows us to not only offer the latest and most up to date, gentle chiropractic care, but allows us to address other challenges you may have. We have monthly workshops that allow each person to address other health facets in their lives, such as nutrition, time management, peace management and exercise. The greatest part of practice is seeing miracles happen when a person begins to heal from inside out.

During my spare time I enjoy reading leadership and motivational books. I’m always looking for way to help people become more “themselves” and who God designed them to be.

Recently I have been Nominated to the Prestigious “Wellness Advisory Board” for Team USA Olympic governing bodies of USA Judo, USA wrestling, USA weightlifting and USA volleyball. Treating champions helps me to deliver the highest care to our local athletes and many ‘weekend warriors’.

In 2012, I traveled to London for the Olympic Games to care for our athletes and made sure they performed at their very best.

5 Essentials Coordinator

I am originally from Oak Park, CA and moved to Orlando in the summer of 2003. My passion for chiropractic began when my mother took me to see a chiropractor at a young age after she had been going. Although I was young and didn’t fully understand how important it is to keep your spine in alignment, I knew that I wanted to make a change in people’s lives and make an impact on this world, thus I found chiropractic was going to be my calling. I studied at Florida Atlantic University for two years where I majored in Pre-Medicine. From there I then went on to study to become a CCPA (Certified Chiropractic Physician’s Assistant) out of Cleveland Chiropractic College. I can tell you from experience that not all Chiropractors are the same and that was clear when I began working for Dr. Herba. Maximized Living turned out to be exactly what I was looking for and gave me a true understanding of Chiropractic as a whole. This office not only helped me change the lives of others, but it has changed my life as well. You will never find a more dedicated and supportive team as well as corporation like Dr. Herba and Maximized Living.

Michelle Pierce

Don’t let her young skin and bright blue eyes fool you into thinking she’s a twenty something – Michelle is radiant, she is also a single mom of three and an energetic dynamo who juggles her own business, a hectic family schedule, and stays lean and fit in the middle of what she calls the “unending roller coaster of life”. She has a direct and firm approach to nutrition counseling and wellness, with a no-holds-barred attitude. As a former law-student turned stay-at-home mom, Michelle has spent the past 12 years learning and transforming not only herself but also her children’s way of living and eating. Having encountered and overcome the challenge of an unwanted divorce after a 13 year marriage, she has an enormous amount of empathy for and is a cheerleader to the parent who is over-stressed, over-worked but who knows they need to do something different with their health and food; not just for themselves, but for their family. She is known for telling it like it is and has a passion to get to the point and get her clients results.

Michelle has termed herself a “science nerd” and is constantly reading and investigating food, health, fitness and living well in general. With a Bachelor of Science and a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Delaware, and now as an accredited member of the American Association of Drugless Practitioners from completing training through the Institute of Integrative Nutrition in New York City; she has a broad understanding of nutrition and its impact on overall wellness. She is an avid follower and advocate of the Paleo and Primal lifestyle, but is also trained in over 70 different dietary theories and that there is no “one size fits all” way to eat. She has competed regionally in Crossfit competitions and is best known at her gym for being both a fast runner and a heavy deadlifter – hitting her max weight at 260 lbs.

When Michelle is not counseling, you will find her making trips in a packed van to Florida’s beautiful beaches, local museums or WDW with her three kids. School breaks bring the addition of two more little ones; as her boyfriend and her have the pleasure of entertaining FIVE active kiddos in total. They are both passionate about family, health, and life and are enjoying planning their future together.
